Sale Price:$25.00 Original Price:$50.00

This bundle includes:

1. Invertebrate Animal Booklets (M): Print, laminate and cut master copy. Using a ½” book ring, make masters into a little book. Print student copies and leave whole. Child will color, label, cut and staple their own booklets.

2. Invertebrate Tracing (M): There are 4 Invertebrates to trace. Print on cardstock and laminate all copies. You can display the colored copies. Provide blanks on a tray with good quality tracing paper, 2 clothespins and a Sharpie. Child will trace animal. A fun extension is to paint using watercolor (I like the 36 color palettes from Amazon or Michael’s) to paint in the drawing.

3. Invertebrate Scavenger Hunt (L):  The colored labels can be printed, laminated, and hung around the room. Children can walk around the room with the documentation sheet on a clipboard to write the words as they are found. Alternatively they can be used with the Moveable Alphabet. We do an exercise called “Read. Spell. Write.”

4. Invertebrate Missing Initial Sounds  (L): I recommend printing onto cardstock, laminating, and cutting into strips. Present it to children with a dry erase marker. There are 14 words.  Also, consider printing copies and having available on language shelf to fill in and color.

5. Land Air Water Printable Mat (M):  Print and laminate and tape together. A fun way to use this is to hang it on a wall, placing velcro circles on the different areas and providing the sorting cards so children can hang the animals on the mat!

6.  Land Air Water Invertebrate Sorting Cards (M): Print, laminate and cut cards and labels. You can use the LAW labels as sorting areas for pictures. Additionally, if you want to use these animals with the LAW Printable Mat, I might suggest cutting around the animals instead of on the lines. Use velcro to make these animals and the mat interactive!

7. Invertebrate Riddles (L): Print onto cardstock, laminate, and cut out these cards. Read the riddle to the child and have them figure out the answer. 10 riddles included.

8. Invertebrate Addition Word Problems and Counters (L): Print, laminate and cut. This is a great activity for an adult to do with children or for a reader to do on their own. Keep the corresponding counters in their own containers for easy access. Read word problem, child uses counters to make addition word problem and solve. Comes with 12 word problems and 12 sets of 10 counters.

9. Moveable Invertebrate Animals (M): Print, laminate and cut the colored master copy as an example. Pin punch or whole punch where the large black dots are. Using small paper fasteners, assemble animals. Print blanks on cardstock. Provide a tray with a pin punch, mat, scissors, coloring tools and paper fasteners. Child will color, cut and assemble animals. There are 4 included.

10. Step by Step Invertebrate Drawings (M): Print, laminate and cut into strips. Provide  pencil and small papers (I like to cut 8.5”x11” paper into quarters). Demonstrate to child how you start at number one and add to the drawing until it is complete. 6 are included

11. Build A Slug Habitat (L): Having a pet slug in your learning environment is so fun! Here is a how-to diagram to get you started.

12. Slug Pinpoking (L): There are 2 shapes, slugs and rocks. Print them onto construction paper and quarter it. Add them to your Language shelf with a large pushpin (or other tool) and a felt mat. Consider presenting this with an added half sheet of blue paper, a small piece of brown paper, and glue. You can make a little slug habitat artwork!

13. Parts of a Slug Poster and Cut + Paste (L): Print and laminate the master copy. Present the blank copy with coloring supplies, scissors and glue.

14. Worm Game and Puzzle (L): Print, laminate, and tape together the game board. Print, laminate, and cut out the worms leaving no border. I think it’s best add a thin line of hot glue to the backs of the worms to prevent slippage on the mat. This game can be used in a few different ways. The first way is as a puzzle. It is a challenge to fit all of the worms on the game board being sure to keep them in their paths. Alternatively, you could add a rolling die and present it as a two person game. Children take turns rolling and adding the corresponding number of worms to the board. Also, I think this board would be super fun to present with pink clay or playdough. Again, as a math game and for simple addition equations.

15. Invertebrate Fortune Teller (L): Print and fold to create this childhood favorite activity. If you don’t remember how to fold these then google “how to fold a paper fortune teller/cootie catcher.”
