Montessori Continents Bundle
Montessori Continents Bundle
1. Me On The Map (L): Use this to create a visual of where you live in the world. The child draws and labels a circle of me, home, town, state (or territory), and country. I like to print them on cardstock to give them some stability. Use a paper fastener to put it all together.
2. Earth and Moon Pinpricking (L): These shapes are a great addition to your Language area. Print them onto construction paper and quarter it. Add them to your shelf with a large pushpin (or other tool) and a felt mat.
3. Continent Puzzle Map Coloring Sheets (M): Includes black line student sheets for coloring AND colored masters of The World Map, North America, South America, Africa, Asia, Europe, Antarctica and Oceania. They correspond to the Montessori Puzzle Maps. There are generalized maps and every tiny island may not be represented.
4. Seven Continent Little Books (M): Offer pages to child, they color according to the Montessori Map, cut and staple!
5. Passport (L): Cut out the stamps and add them to your passport. “What did you see when you visited South America?”
6. Around the World Landmarks (M): These cards can be used on their own for matching to continents or can be used in addition to the TOOB Around the World Landmarks Set. Suggestion: Print a set of the cards, cut into rectangles and print an additional set at 60% scale, cut the landmarks out and children can sort cards, tiny “objects” with any other materials you have for your continent study.
7. 1-10 Cards for Each Continent (L): Print these animals onto cardstock, cut, and laminate for prolonged use. Add them to your math shelf with 55 small objects for counting. There is a set for each continent: raccoon (N. America), poison dart frog (S. America), hedgehog (Europe), warthog (Africa), peacock (Asia), kangaroo (Oceania), and penguin (Antartica).
8. Art Posters and Cards for Each Continent (L): IMPORTANT: Once you purchase the bundle you will see a code to download this file separately! The world is full of art! Here is a small sliver that celebrates an aspect from each continent: sculptures from Nepal, masks from countries around Africa, tapestries from Sweden, vintage posters of the Great Barrier Reef, paintings by Frida Kahlo, arpilleras from Chile and Peru, and penguins of Antartica. Consider printing and laminating the posters to hang during your study and have the small cards nearby to match. Use these as conversation starters and inspiration. Perhaps you can make a clay sculpture and paint it gold? Can you draw a self portrait like Frida? Let’s bring out the loom to learn how to weave. The possibilities are truly endless!
9. I Am A Cartographer (L): Put these ID badges on your geography shelf with a marker, hole punch, string.
10. Maria Montessori Timeline (M): This download includes 8 cards with little blurbs about how Maria Montessori effected each continent on Earth through her work in education (the Antarctica card says, “If there were children on Antarctica, Maria Montessori would have taught them the Montessori way, too!”
