Includes:

1. Bird Cutting Strips + Envelopes: Print and cut into strips. Have them available with scissors, a bowl, and envelopes for the cut pieces.

2. Bird Pinpricking Templates: This is a 3 page file to add to your bird unit. It contains a page with four birds, a page with three feathers, and a page with two masks. I suggest printing the birds and feathers on a variety of colors of construction paper to have available on your language shelf with pinpricking supplies. Print the masks on cardstock and provide the children with supplies to decorate. Consider reading Firebird by Misty Copeland and listening/dancing to “The Firebird” by Igor Stravinsky.

3. Flying Bird Papercraft: Print out this file. Cut out. Fold on the lines and tape closed. Attach to the back of the bird. Insert a straw and BLOW!

4. I Am An Ornithologist: Put these ID badges on your shelf with a marker, hole punch, string.

5. Common Bird Riddles: Print onto cardstock, laminate, and cut out these cards. Read the riddle to the child and have them figure out the answer. 10 riddles included.

6. #1-10 Cards: Print these talkative tufted titmice onto cardstock, cut and laminate for prolonged use. Add them to your math shelf with 55 small objects for counting.

7. Rattlin’ Bog Puppets and Lyrics: The song “Rattlin’ Bog” is an Irish folktale. This file can be printed, cut, and laminated to be used while singing the song. Teach the children to use them as well! I have recorded and posted myself singing this song on my YouTube channel: Bluebird Montessori
