Use these materials to compliment your study of the Amazon Rainforest.

Here is what is included:

1. Tracing Pages: I recommend printing these onto cardstock and laminating. Put them in your Language area with tracing paper and clips to hold the papers together. Provide markers for tracing on the lines. Consider a Sharpie marker and watercolor paints. You can also use these as coloring/painting sheets. Four animals included.

2. Animals of the Rainforest Booklet: This booklet contains 10 common animals to color, make into a book, and read. Also consider printing them onto cardstock to have available with watercolor paints.

3. Scavenger Hunt: The colored labels can be printed, laminated, and hung around the room. Children can walk around the room with the documentation sheet on a clipboard to write the words as they are found. Alternatively they can be used with the Moveable Alphabet. We do an exercise called “Read. Spell. Write.”

   I have included blanks of the labels for those of you who prefer to use cursive.

4. Animal Riddles: This is the perfect activity for morning meeting once all of the animal have been introduced. There are 10 riddles that coincide with the animals in the booklet.

5. Snake Template: Print these onto a variety of colors of construction paper to use for a collage activity or pinpoking (or both!).

6. Poison Dart Frog Cutting Strips: Print and cut into strips. Have them available with scissors, a bowl, and envelopes for the cut pieces. Find my cutting envelopes under “extras.”

7. My Snake Book: Have these sheets available with colored pencils, scissors, and a stapler so children can make a book to read.

8. Snake Spiral Cutting: Print onto construction paper and haveavailable with scissors.
