There are two ways to use this material, outside and inside.

For use outside, print out page 1 for your children/students and bring them to a local pond. Use this sheet to guide your exploration and to document what you see on your walk.

For use inside, print, cut and hang the pictures of pond critters throughout your learning space. The children can then walk around, find, and document how many of each they see. You may want to consider varying the number of animals you hang or change it each day to keep the interest.
