Ocean Extension Activities
Ocean Animals Hunt: Print, cut and hang the pictures of ocean animals throughout your learning space. The children can then walk around, find, and document how many of each they see. You may want to consider varying the number of animals you hang or change it each day to keep the interest.
The sheet of animals can also be used as cutting strips for scissor practice and as a collage material.
Clownfish Counters: Print these numbered fish onto cardstock and laminate for prolonged use. Pair with glass gems (“bubbles”) for counting.
I Live in the Ocean Booklet: The children can color, cut, staple and read this sweet ocean themed book. There are three versions of this book included- a black and white one, a color one, and one with pages for the children to illustrate themselves.
Shark and Whale Pinpricking Templates: Print them onto construction paper and quarter it. Add them to your language shelf with a large pushpin (or other tool) and a felt mat.
