This bundle includes:

1. Flower Identification Cards and Matching Activity (M): a. Print colored masters on card stock and laminate. Lay out large flower cards in rows. Have child match small petal cards to corresponding flower. I like to back small cards on sticky cork to make them a bit more substantial. b. Print large cards on card stock and laminate. Using a ½” book ring, make into display book. Offer blank student sheets for children to color in.

2. Inside/Outside Edible Bingo (M): Print player mats on card stock and laminate. Print small pieces on card stock and laminate. To prevent sliding, you can apply hot glue to the back of the small pieces which will provide some friction. Keep small pieces in a bowl or basket and choose one piece at a time. If child has the corresponding inside of the fruit on their mat - they should cover it with a jewel or coin. When a child gets a vertical or horitzontal line, they win!

3. A Little Seed For Me to Sow Poem Booklet (M): Print master on card stock and laminate. Keep as cards to lay out or using a ½” book ring, make a display book. Offer child a blank copy to either color in or illustrate (there are two versions).

4. Leaf Changing Color Mixing (M): Print colored masters on card stock and laminate. Can be set up as a book using a ½” book ring or kept as cards. Provide child with one set of blanks (one set has the color guide at the top to follow and one doesn’t). Can be used with paint, watercolors or chalk or oil pastels. Colors at top of page dictate what colors to “mix” together to make the gradation of lead color change.

5. Flower + Bean Life Cycle Banners (M): Print colored master and cut on grey lines. Punch holes on black dots and string together with twine or small paper fasteners. Provide child with blank student sheet to color, cut, order and string together.

6. Seed Nomenclature Cards (M): Print on card stock and laminate. At the grocery store, you can usually find these things in the bulk section - only buy a little bit of each! I like to keep them in small, clear containers and have children match the containers to the cards.

7. Types of Trees Cards for Toob (M): Print on card stock and laminate. These are matching cards for the Trees TOOB (Safari Ltd.).

8. Farms Around the World Cards (L): Print, laminate and cut cards. Use them to sort on a map or with map puzzle pieces and discuss how different regions are better suited for certain crops. Each card is color-coded to the Montessori world map for control of error.

9. Tree + Leaf Sets Basket (L): Print onto cardstock, laminate, and cut out. Child can match number to quantity on each tree. There are also two unnumbered trees included to use to as manipulatives for addition/subtraction equations. I like to back mine with sticky-back cork.

10. Flower Petal Game (L): Print onto cardstock, laminate and cut out the pieces. This can be a 2 person game. Using dice, they take turns adding petals to their flower. Who’s flower will fill up first? I recommend adding a line of hot glue to the back of the petals to prevent them from sliding around on the mat. Alternatively this could be used as a cut-and-paste activity or as a playdough mat (without the petals).

11. Garden Scavenger Hunt (L): The colored labels can be printed, laminated, and hung around the room. Child can walk around the room with the documentation sheet on a clipboard to write the words as they are found. Alternatively they can be used with the Moveable Alphabet. We do an exercise called “Read. Spell. Write.”

12. Seed Observation Sheet (L): Use this sheet to document seed growth observations. I like to pair it with bean sprouting in a paper towel inside a ziploc bag taped to a window.

13. Seed Observation Booklet (L): Print and staple into booklets for children to document seed growth. This can be a more detailed, long term project for older children who are ready for it.

14. Plant Tags (L): Print, laminate, cut, and mount (I used little bamboo skewers) these tags. Use them to flag the plants that already have been watered. I keep them on a shelf with a small pitcher. The children can water a plant and add a flag so that others know it does not need to be watered. At Bluebird, it is the teacher’s job to remove the flags in dry plants.

15. Symmetry Leaf Cutting (L): Print, cut the pages in half, and present to your learners. Fold on the center line, cut on the black line, and color or paint! Maybe you could string them up from the ceiling or make a banner!
