Welcome to my new blog!!!

I am so happy to be here in this new online space. I blogged when my children were younger and enjoyed documenting our baking and artistic creations, our outside adventures, and my own love of handwork. I found that sharing our activities helped me feel more supported and connected as a new parent. Feel free to peruse the archives of Our Yellow House!

Fast forward about 10 years and now my little ones are 12 and 15. They don’t go to school anymore, by choice, and are still creative, self-directed learners. Four years ago I opened Bluebird Montessori, a small multi-age learning program for children ages 3-6. It is one of my favorite places on Earth. Unfortunately, that is on hold for the time being due, of course, to Covid-19. However, I have the passion to continue supporting young children and their families on their journeys!

Drawing on my 15 years experience as a parent and 10 years in a Montessori classroom, this website will provide materials, ideas, and inspiration for your family. Most activities are geared to the 3-6 crowd but many can be used for older children as well.

I have opened an online shop where you will be able to purchase PDFs to print and use at home (or in your classrooms when we go back) to help guide conversations and projects. I will continue to add materials as I make them. I will occasionally be posting finished items for your home as well!
