About Us

My name is Leah (she/her).

I am the founder and lead teacher of a small, yet mighty, program called Bluebird Montessori (@bluebirdmontessori) in upstate New York. I received my AMS 3-6 credential at Northeast Montessori Institute where I now instruct the Practical Life and Music + Movement curriculums. Using my background in visual and performing art I bring my love of design and song to the Montessori community. I have been presenting workshops to educators at Montessori conferences, schools, and online for 10 years.

And my name is Kate (she/her).

After being in Montessori environments with children for over twenty years, I have recently shifted to working with adults full time as the Assistant Program Director at Northeast Montessori Institute. I have worked in infant, toddler, and early childhood Montessori communities and am deeply committed to helping adults create beautiful spaces where children are able to discover their independence and agency. I am both AMI-credentialed (0-3) and AMS-credentialed (3-6). I live in New Hampshire with my husband and a few of our four children. The things that bring me joy outside of my family and Montessori are reading, sewing, paddle boarding, and walking in the woods.
